Columbia NW Heating is seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Compensation: Pay Range: $29.00 - $40.00 per hour + SPIFF Bonus Eligible
Schedule: Full-Time; Monday - Friday
Location: Portland, OR

Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and thermostats.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC equipment effectively.
- Perform emergency repairs and ensure timely responses to service requests.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance overall system performance and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure all parts are loaded and accounted for prior to each job.
- Review work for accuracy and make corrections as necessary.
- Maintain a professional appearance while interacting with clients and customers.
- Adhere to all safety regulations set forth by the company and governmental agencies.
- Report and rectify hazardous conditions promptly.
- Stay informed about industry advancements and new HVAC technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Required Experience and Certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of HVAC service or maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license
- EPA Certification (mandatory)
- NATE Certification (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in using power tools, hand tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Capable of lifting 100 lbs or more.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service standards.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, snow, ice, sun).
- Comfortable navigating stairs and uneven surfaces, sometimes while carrying heavy items.
- Ability to work on ladders, roofs, in attics, and crawl spaces.
