Job Description
One of the premier mechanical HVAC contractors in the Spokane Valley area is immediately hiring an experienced Controller.
Job Title: Controller
Location: Lewiston, ID
Compensation: $85,000 - $150,000 annually
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Benefits: 401K with up to a 4% employer match. Medical, dental, and vision–100% paid for by the employer. Paid holidays, birthday, vacation, and paid sick leave.

Controller Position Summary:
The Controller is responsible for all financial, accounting, and HR tasks, as well as some reporting and excise tax and licensing compliance. The Controller will work in cooperation with and will be supported by a management team that includes accounting and HR professionals.
Job Functions:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions, using QuickBooks and Service Titan ERPs
- Responsible for most HR functions, including payroll processing using Paycom
- Supervise and manage accounting and office staff
- Coordinate and prepare timely internal financial statements
- Oversee state and local regulatory reporting (excise taxes and licensing)
- Establish and manage the budget process
- Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
- Enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow processes
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity in all actions and decisions
- Cultivate and maintain healthy working relationships with all employees
- Tracking budget expectations
Job Requirements
Controller Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- 6+ years of accounting/finance experience
- Prior experience managing the full accounting cycle and a deep understanding of the transactional cycle (AP/AR, GL, payroll)
- Prior supervisory experience
- Knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP)
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations, and reporting
- Professional accounting certification (CMA, CPA, CGA, or CA)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- HVAC or trade accounting experience preferred
